V, Getting There

Travel & Budget

Fly into José María Córdova International (MDE), about a 45-minute drive from El Poblado, set in the green Llanogrande countryside. Here is the lay of the land for our Boston and Florida guests.

Flights

Good to know

  • ·Nonstop from Florida. Avianca and American fly direct from Miami; Orlando and Fort Lauderdale have direct service too.
  • ·From Boston, connect through Miami, Bogotá, Panama City, Atlanta, or Newark. JetBlue, Avianca, American, and Copa serve the route.
  • ·Book about 8 to 10 weeks out for the best fares. Mid-week departures are cheaper. Late August is shoulder season.
  • ·Time zone: Medellín runs one hour behind Boston and Florida in summer. No jet lag to speak of.
  • ·Airport to hotel: a private transfer to El Poblado runs about $25 to $35, roughly 45 minutes.

Entry requirements

Passports, green cards & the Check-Mig form

  • Most guests need only a valid passport. US citizens get a 90-day tourist stamp on arrival, no visa needed.
  • Green card holders: Colombia goes by your passport's nationality. If your passport already enters Colombia visa-free, you are set. If it would normally require a Colombian visa, you may still enter visa-free for up to 90 days as a US permanent resident. Travel with your green card alongside your passport, and make sure any US visa inside it stays valid for at least 180 days from arrival.
  • Everyone should carry a passport valid 6+ months, hold a return or onward ticket, and complete Colombia's free online Check-Mig form 1 to 72 hours before each flight.
  • Fine print: Immigration rules can change. Please confirm with Migración Colombia or your airline before you fly.

IV, The Stay

Where to Stay

Most guests will want to base themselves in El Poblado, safe, walkable, and minutes from everything in this guide. Novotel is the easy pick for families, and Hotel Lagoon puts you closest to the venue if you'd rather skip the city buzz. One thing to plan for: staying in the city (El Poblado, Laureles, and nearby) means the venue is a 45 to 50 minute drive away.

Traveling as a group?

Consider an Airbnb

For families or friends, a full apartment in El Poblado, Manila, or Laureles often beats separate rooms: kitchens, living space, rooftop pools. Two- and three-bedroom places are plentiful and split cheaply. Approx $90 to 200/night for a whole apartment, book early for August.

All rates are rough estimates in USD per night and shift with season. Late August is shoulder season, kinder on price. Reserve early.

V, Getting Around

Transportation

·

Our recommended service

Medellín VIP

We're working with Medellín VIP for airport pickups and rides to and from the venue. Reach out directly to arrange your transportation and let them know you're booking on behalf of the Lynch wedding so you're grouped with our guests.

Marking “yes” on the form above lets us know to expect you, so we can confirm your ride with them.

Plan ahead

The venue is 45 to 50 minutes from the city

We recommend staying in the city, El Poblado, Laureles, and the surrounding neighborhoods, for food, nightlife, and everything on our experiences list. Just know that Santa Mónica sits roughly 45 to 50 minutes away by car. Build that travel time into your wedding day, and arrange your ride ahead of time rather than counting on finding one that afternoon.

Once you've booked
